The Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry functions with the aim and objective of “Catch them young, watch them grow”

The first experience with the dentist often dictates whether a child will seek regular care or be in morbid fear of dental procedures. This philosophy is amply exhibited in the profound care and empathy shown to small children and school kids who seek expert care at the Pedodontics clinic.

The Department is currently headed by Dr. Jayasudha K. A graduate of the prestigious SDM Dental College & from JSS University. She completed her General management programme for Healthcare Executives from IIMB. She was a part of Guinness world record event conducted Largest dental health check in a single day. She has more than 20 studies to her
credit & scores of publications in both National & International peer reviewed journals.

The Department is equipped with 30 special child friendly dental chairs. Department is well equipped with state of the art infrastructure, dental materials and equipments. The Department has a unique children’s recreation area that contains special toys and oral education room that enables children to learn better dental hygiene and practice it in their daily lives.

Providing specialized care to children in a caring atmosphere. Department also delivers comprehensive quality dental care under General Anaesthesia and follows a well-designed preventive and interceptive program for both dental caries and malocclusion. The Department also regularly conducts camps in schools and rural areas.
