Eligibility Criteria

  • UNDER GRADUATION: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

    ELIGIBILTY FOR ADMISSION
    1. Qualification:

    • Candidates should have passed the 12th Grade Examination or equivalent examination, comprising the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as language and obtained a minimum of 50% (in case of OC) in the aggregate marks of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in the case of SC/ST/OBC).
    • Eligible NEET (UG) score should be obtained as prescribed by DGHS
    1. Age requirement: Candidate shall complete the age of 17yrs as on 31st December of the year in which the admission is sought.
    2. Candidate shall qualify in the NEET with the requisite percentile score as notified by the Dental Council of India by its BDS revised regulation.
    CERTIFICATES REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION:

    Students seeking admission to first year BDS course should submit the following documents/certificates in original at the time of admission.

    1. Allotment order issued by the Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpuak, Chennai
    2. 12th standard or equivalent examination Mark sheet.
    3. 10th standard examination Mark Sheet.
    4. Transfer Certificate after completion of 12th
    5. Community Certificate
    6. Conduct Certificate from institution last studied
    7. Hepatitis B Vaccination certificate issued by the Medical officer
    8. 3 set of xerox copies of all above original certificates.
    9. Passport size photo 10 nos.
    10. First Graduate Certificate (if applicable)
    11. Migration Certificate for other state students (CBSE/Intermediate etc..)
    12. Eligibility certificate issued by the TN Dr. M.G.R university (applicable to the students from other Countries / State students).
    13. Nativity Certificate
    14. NEET Score Card for the relevant year of admission
    15. Aadhar Card Copy

  • POST GRADUATION : Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)

    Eligibility for Admission:

    • Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by DCI. They should have successfully passed their B.D.S. from an institution recognized by DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30th of April of the relevant academic year.
    • Candidates should have qualified in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test NEET-MDS conducted by national testing agency, New Delhi. Candidates should have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination as per Dental Council of India norms (according to their respective category – OC/OBC/SC/ST).
    • Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate Dental course in the Dental college, must possess recognized B.D.S. degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Dental Council of India, or any of the State Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

    • In the case of an Indian national with the recognized degree from Foreign University, the Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary/permanent registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies.
    • Temporary/Permanent registration to such candidates shall be subject to the condition that the degree is duly registered in the country where the degree is obtained and is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India also.

    1. Provisional Allotment letter-2023 issued by the Secretary, Selection committee, Directorate on Medical Education, Chennai.
    2. 12th Mark sheet (HSC / CBSE)
    3. 10th Mark sheet (HSC / CBSE)
    4. Transfer certificate after the completion of HSC
    5. Community Certificate
    6. Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied
    7. Hepatitis B vaccination certificate issued by Medical Officer
    8. 3 set of xerox copies of all above original certificates
    9. Ten Passport size colour photographs
    10. First Graduate Certificate (if applicable)
    11. Migration Certificate for other state students
    12. Eligibility Certificate from TN Dr. M.G.R Medical University for other board of students
    13. Nativity Certificate
    14. NEET Score Card
    15. Aadhar Card Copy
    16. D.S. Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate (after completion of CRI).
    17. D.S. Internship Certificate.
    18. Permanent State Dental Council Registration Certificate.
    19. D.S. Mark Statements (First Year to Final Year)
    20. D.S. Consolidated Statement of Marks.
    21. D.S. Attempt Certificate (First year to Final year).
    22. D.S. Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate.
    23. D.S. Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of Institution last studied.
    • Candidates without the original certificates / documents shall not be allowed to take admission in the allotted Dental College.
    • Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the Institute/College/University” shall not be allowed to take admission in the allotted Dental College.
    • Allotment letter given by the Secretary, Selection Committee, DME, Chennai for admission shall be subject to fulfilment of all eligibility criteria prescribed by the DCI and also medical fitness of the candidates. Those who do not fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria and not found medically fit will not be admitted to the course of study to which they are allotted by the DGHS
